I was reluctant to attend this years carnival, thoughts of having to travel by tube in conditions that would be illegal for livestock and the possibility of being caught up in gang warfare put me off however a friend suggested it would be a good photo opportunity convinced me to go.
As a result we happened to find a good location to take photos that was not too crowded and benefited from the afternoon sun.
I took these with a zoom lens (40 – 150mm) purposely to avoid shooting anybody in the crowd.
This allowed me to practice some great close up portrait style photos however I struggled to obtain any pictures of the larger floats.
